Stoneham educates Sevenoaks School students
On 16th March, we had the pleasure of welcoming students and Head of Technology Rebecca Brown, from Sevenoaks School sixth form, for a tour of the Stoneham showroom and factory. The students spent time with the team to learn about the manufacturing process as part of their Design and Technology course, for the International Baccalaureate® programme.
Throughout the day pupils were given an in-depth look at the design process; from the client brief through to the finished product. A tour in the factory benefited students who were able to see what happens at each stage of manufacturing, from the moment the wood arrives at the factory.
“It was a pleasure to be able to show the students what goes on behind the scenes and educate them on the kitchen industry,” said Adrian Stoneham, Managing Director. “Students got to see the high-tech equipment we use including our new 5-axis machine that allows us to create intricate kitchen cabinetry. We hope they enjoyed the experience and are inspired by what they saw.”
“We would like to thank Stoneham Kitchens for the opportunity for our students and allowing us to spend the day with them,” said Rebecca Brown. “Several students are looking to pursue design at University and found the insight into the industry very rewarding.”Back
